Arsenal's next five fixtures compared to Man City, Newcastle, Man Utd and Tottenham

Arsenal have continued their unbeaten run after beating Oxford United in their FA Cup third round tie. The Gunners are now set to face Premier League title rivals Manchester City in the next round at the end of the month.

Mikel Arteta made seven changes to his starting team but the lack of squad depth in attack and defence saw him retain Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Magalhaes from the frustrating draw against Newcastle. Arsenal struggled to get going against the League One side before finding a breakthrough after Mohamed Elneny headed home a Fabio Vieira free-kick.

Eddie Nketiah sealed the win with two well-taken goals as Saka limped off the pitch, being replaced by the returning Emile Smith Rowe. The Gunners boss confirmed that Saka was "all fine" after the win against Oxford as they now turn their attention back to the Premier League.

So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the Gunners' next five fixtures and compared them to City, as well as the other teams near the top of the table.

15/01 - Tottenham (A) - Premier League - 4:30pm

Next up in the league are local rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The north London Derby.

Tensions will be running high and the Gunners will be hoping to complete the double over Spurs for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign. Not much has separated the two rivals in recent years with either side winning three from the previous six meetings.

Expect cards galore too. In fact, each of the last two encounters between the two foes has seen a red card brandished to the away side.

22/01 - Manchester United (H) - Premier League - 4:30pm

Another tough test awaits Arteta and co. this month in the form of a home encounter against Manchester United. Erik ten Hag's side are the only team to defeat Arsenal in the Premier League this term. The Gunners will be looking to avenge September's 3-1 loss at Old Trafford and their recent home form against United puts them in good stead.

The Red Devils have recorded just one point across their last four trips to the Emirates Stadium - a statistic that will give Arsenal fans hope ahead of the highly-anticipated clash.

28/01 - Manchester City (A) - FA Cup - 3:00pm

The Gunners will face their main Premier League title rivals at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup fourth round. Arsenal's run of fixtures doesn't get any easier to end January but they will take confidence from the fact they have won their last two FA Cup ties against Pep Guardiola's side.

Whichever team does not progress may hold an advantage in the title race later in the season as they will have less fixtures to contend with.

04/02 - Everton (A) - Premier League - 12:30pm

Despite struggling with consistency over the last few years, Everton have proved to be somewhat of a bogey team for Arsenal in recent times. The Gunners have lost three of their last four meetings against the Toffees, although they recorded a convincing 5-1 victory against Frank Lampard's men last time the two sides met.

11/02 - Brentford (H) - Premier League - 3:00pm

Brentford have been imperious against the so-called 'big six' during the 2022/23 campaign. The Bees have defeated Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United whilst holding Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea to draws as well.

However, they were thoroughly outclassed by Arsenal back in September, losing 3-0 at the Community Stadium thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba and summer signing Fabio Vieira. The Gunners will be hoping to replicate that performance in north London when the two teams meet again next month.
