Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and unexpected Man United star included in England team news hint vs USA

England may have dropped an unlikely team news hint on Friday ahead of their Group B clash against USA in the 2022 edition of the World Cup. It comes as the Three Lions could secure qualification for the round of 16 before they even play their final match next week.

That was due to Wales' defeat to Iran earlier in the day as two injury-time strikes were the difference following Wayne Hennessey's rash red card. That was against the side that England beat 6-2 just days before to kickstart their campaign as goals from Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish and a Bukayo Saka brace rounded off the thumping.

While it has got them off to a good start, manager Gareth Southgate has warned fans of getting too far ahead of themselves for the USA clash: “Have we ever beaten the States in a major tournament? No, I didn’t think so. So tomorrow we have to try to make history.

“We are good at talking highly of ourselves as a nation on the basis of very little evidence. So what we’ve got to do is perform on the field. We know we will play a highly motivated team."

It leaves Southgate with a decision over his starting lineup, whether he names the same team that beat Iran or looks to freshen it up slightly. A pre-match hype graphic before the match may have hinted at the team, including Arsenal star Saka, Newcastle's Kieran Trippier and an unexpected start for Rashford.

While that could be the case, it may be unlikely though as reports from the Athletic state that England are set to name the same team from last time out. That means that while Saka and Trippier are going to play, Rashford is unlikely to start, despite his display off the bench.
