Arsenal player ratings vs West Ham: Walters a cut above with Cozier-Duberry bright in FA Youth Cup defeat

Arsenal were unable to go all the way in the FA Youth Cup as they fell to a 5-1 defeat to West Ham in the final.

The Gunners took the lead in front of their home fans as Omari Benjamin scored inside ten minutes, but George Earthy and Callum Marshall scored twice in as many minutes before Gideon Kodua extended the advantage.

Arsenal had plenty of chances to get back into the match, but conceded twice late on from corners as Kaelen Caey and Josh Briggs sealed victory.

Here’s how Jack Wilshere’s side rated at the Emirates...

Noah Cooper 6

Smart save to parry Earthy shot round post. Helpless when lobbed from range after defender error.

Michal Rosiak 6

Smart-looking full-back, made chance for Benjamin with deep cross. Went close with early free-kick.

Josh Robinson 6

Carried the ball well and aggressive in the tackle but bad mistake for third Hammers goal. Did not let it affect him though and made big chance for Cozier-Duberry after break.

Bradley Ibrahim 6

Captain showed great composure in possession.

Reuell Walters 8

Has been on the first-team bench of late and looked a man amongst boys when driving through Hammers midfield.

Lino Sousa 6

Grew as an attacking threat after the break.

Myles Lewis-Skelly 6

Extremely highly rated at the club, and showed why in flashes with silky glides away from opponents.

Jimi Gower 6

Some clever touches, though perhaps guilty of delaying pass on one or two occasions. Replaced at half-time as part of tactical tweak.

Amario Cozier-Duberry 7

A couple of brilliant runs from deep and shot created opener. Missed big chance to pull one back straight after half-time.

Omari Benjamin 7

Took his goal superbly with first-time curler. Booked after a bit of needless late handbags.

Ethan Nwaneri 6

Arsenal’s youngest ever first-team debutant, started at centre-forward before dropping into No10 at half-time in bid to be more involved. Great feet.

Substitutes

Osman Kamara (Gower 46’)

Sebastian Ferdinand (Benjamin 85’)

Unused: Roja, Nichols, Kacurri, Brown, Oulad M’hand,
