Aaron Ramsdale: Could do nothing about the goal, but his sweeping didn't always inspire the most confidence. Tried to keep the intensity high second half. 5.
Thomas Partey: Arteta wanted him to do the Zinchenko role on the right side. Partey failed to deliver. His usually secure passing was well off as he looked confused about where to stand often. Failed to do much in the offensive third either. 4.
Ben White: Looked rusty after being moved back into centre-back. Tried to pass through the middle instead of using the options out wide. Nearly gave Gibbs-White a goal after miscontrolling a hospital pass from Partey. 5.

Gabriel: Unlucky that his sliding tackle deflected off Taiwo Awoniyi and in. OK defensively after that but outmuscled on a few occasions by Awoniyi Foolishly dragged into a tussle with Gibbs-White and Aurier. 5.
Jakub Kiwior: The Polish international was good defensively but offered absolutely nothing going forward rendering Arsenal's left side practically unusable for the first half. Probably proof that his better position is at centre back. 4.
Jorginho: Looked to orchestrate things from deep but appeared frustrated by the lack of good movement in front of him. Failed to penetrate the City backline. 5.
Granit Xhaka: Barely noticeable on what could be his final away game for Arsenal. Another who suffered greatly from the overemphasis on the right. 5.
Martin Odegaard: Some decent passes, and link up play on the edge of the box but couldn't be as decisive as he has been this season. Gave the ball away for another goal which is a worrying trend. 5.
Bukayo Saka: A decent threat down the right wing. Asked to play very wide due to the withdrawn Partey role which was new to him. If Arsenal were going to score it was going to come from the Hale Ender. 6.
Gabriel Jesus: The Brazilian has exhibited a bit of a petulant streak when things have gone against him recently. It was on full display at the City Ground where his impact was once again limited. 5.
Leandro Trossard: His impact since signing in January has been undeniable, but Trossard has been way off it these past two games. Another who looked confused by the system as he was asked to tuck in from the unused left-hand side. 4.
SUBSTITUTES -
Eddie Nketiah: Barely noticeable after coming on. Still has not scored off the bench this season despite being introduced as a sub 19 times. 5.
Kieran Tierney: Offered a bit more threat down the left-hand side. Had to have been fuming after being overlooked again. Coped with it well though and was decent after coming on. 6.
Fabio Vieira: Another frustratingly low-impact sub appearance from the 22-year-old. A penny for Emile Smith Rowe's thoughts as he continues to be overlooked in favour of Vieira. 5.
