Aaron Ramsdale: Was left flat-footed for the goal and probably could have done more given how tame and central Jota's shot was. Didn't quite exude the confidence we've come to expect since he arrived in the summer. 5.
Takehiro Tomiyasu: Slipping and sliding all over the place in the first half which proved costly for Jota's goal. Found his feet a little more in the second but was still culpable in Arsenal's inability to play quickly from the back. 5.
Ben White: Not as ambitious on the ball as we've seen him be and Arsenal struggled as a result. Defensively fine, if unspectacular compared to last week's display. 6.
Gabriel: It was easy to lose count of the number of times the Brazilian played square to Ben White instead of being ambitious with his passing. Disappointing that he played Jota on for the second goal, too. 5.
Kieran Tierney: Tried to get forward as much as possible down the left, but the balls just weren't coming to him. Given the captain's armband in the second half after Lacazette went off though as a sign of how highly he's valued in this Gunners squad. 6.
Albert Sambi Lokonga: Fought hard in midfield up against the Liverpool press and did play one fine ball through to Lacazette. Ultimately not enough, though. 7.
Martin Odegaard: The double pivot role just doesn't get the best out of the Norwegian, and Arsenal struggled to build from the back as a result. 5.
Bukayo Saka: Tried to create down the right but was hardly found after Liverpool scored their first goal. Grew increasingly frustrated as the game went on. 6.
Emile Smith Rowe: Looked off the pace throughout and clearly wasn't fit. Slow in the press and poor with his passing, a night to forget for the Hale Ender. 4.
Gabriel Martinelli: Probably Arsenal's brightest spark in attack. Caused Trent Alexander-Arniold problems defensively in the bright start, but, like the rest of the team, he faded as the game went on. 7.
Alexandre Lacazette: Really disappointing from the Frenchman who blazed Arsenal's best chance over the bar and consistently vacated central areas in the build-up. Did not set the tone up front at all and was flat on the night. 4.
Substitutes -
Eddie Nketiah: Offered very little after coming on in the second half. Barely touched the ball. 5.
Thomas Partey: The Ghanaian was brought on to add a bit more zip and experience to the Arsenal midfield but completely lost his head with a ridiculous challenge when already on a yellow to get himself sent off. 4.
