Arsenal player ratings vs Leeds United as Saliba and Tomiyasu struggle but Ramsdale superb

Aaron Ramsdale: Really quick off his line when required to bail out William Saliba's error and made a smart save in the first half from close range. Good display from the England keeper. 8.

Ben White: Tested a lot in the second half as Leeds looked to attack his side of the pitch. Coped OK for the most part but had far from his best game in possession. 6

William Saliba: Showed excellent composure for the most part, but was eventually caught out and lucky to get away with it. Looked a little rattled after that and you could see the frustration on his face as he conceded a poor penalty. 4.

Gabriel: Some of his passes out to Tomiyasu left a little to be desired and he was lucky to be awarded a soft foul for the disallowed goal. Made some excellent blocks though and his one from Sinisterra was particularly crucial. Very lucky not be sent off after being sucked into a moment of madness by Bamford. 6.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: Not a great afternoon for the Japan international who struggled at times to cope with Leeds' intense pressure. Not his best game on the ball either. 5

Thomas Partey: Not as economical in possession as usual and gave away a fair few poor balls. Decent under the pressure for the most part though and nabbed the ball back on a few occasions well. 6.

Granit Xhaka: Got forward well in the first half and helped the Arsenal attacking unit to play some lovely stuff, but struggled to keep it going in the second half. Showed frustration at times with how things progressed. 6.

Martin Odegaard: Was superb in the first half showing technical elegance and flowing attack grace that helped put Arsenal in front. Struggled to provide that technical security and was taken off early as his pass selection began to deteriorate. 7.

Bukayo Saka: Made it four goals in a week with a superb finish from a tight angle that put Arsenal one up. Didn't do an awful lot aside from that, but he'll be forgiven for his winning contribution. 7.

Gabriel Jesus: Quite a quiet day for the Brazilian who was far from his best. Fought well in the first half but really fell away in the second and failed to offer Arsenal any release from the intensity of the Leeds pressure. 6.

Gabriel Martinelli: Showed some good game intelligence to dribble the ball into the corner late on. Was a big part of the fluid counter attack play that Arsenal managed in the first half. 7.

Substitutes -

Fabio Vieira: Brought on to provide Arsenal with a bit more security in possession after Odegaard fell away. Didn't really do much of it. 6.

Kieran Tierney: Probably should have started the game at left back to exploit the spaces out wide. Couldn't attack much after coming on but Arsenal looked more secure defensively with him present. 7.

Rob Holding: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Eddie Nketiah: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
