Aaron Ramsdale: Made a very smart near-post save in the first half to keep it at 0-0. Couldn't do an awful lot about the goal. Unlucky again to miss out on a home clean sheet. 6.
Ben White: Looked throughout that Kaoru Mitoma had the better of him. Not often you see him struggle one-vs-one in defending tricky wingers but that was the case here. 4.
Jakub Kiwior: Unlucky in the concession of the goal given that he was probably fouled by Evan Ferguson. Another steady if unspectacular display aside from that. 5.

Gabriel: Had an important job of trying to pick passes through the Brighton backline when Arsenal had possession from the back but struggled. Seemed to get frustrated towards the end which was understandable to be fair. 5.
Kieran Tierney: Did feel like Arsenal misses Zinchenko's ability on the ball, but that's no slight at all on Tierney. He was defensively solid and unlucky that a mishit cross bounced over him for the goal. 6.
Jorginho: Decent in possession in a first half where Arsenal weren't always the best at keeping the ball. Appeared to get more and more frustrated with the poor officiating. 6.
Granit Xhaka: Some good high pressing that very nearly caught Jason Steele out on a couple of occasions. Relatively quiet aside from that though. 6.
Martin Odegaard: Started off brightly and was among the Arsenal players to go closest in the first half. Couldn't influence the game much in the second half though as the Gunners struggled to get a hold of possession. 6.
Bukayo Saka: Some decent efforts early in the first half, but once again was starved of possession during the second half in the absence of William Saliba. A frustrating day at the office. 6.
Gabriel Jesus: Some decent high pressing and like Xhaka he might have earned some good chances from Jason Steele on another day. Ultimately though on a day when Arsenal needed some inspiration from their star striker, he was frustratingly quiet. 5.
Gabriel Martinelli: Came off with an early injury. n/a.
SUBSTITUTES -
Leandro Trossard: Hit the bar and was at the heart of Arsenal's best play in the second half too. However, he gave the ball away to allow Undav in for the second. Unfortunate to be punished so harshly. 6.
Reiss Nelson: Another energetic display off the bench. Seems determined to be a protagonist in games now rather than just a member of the supporting cast. 7.
Thomas Partey: This game felt like one where Thomas Partey on his best form could have been influential. Sadly he wasn't at that level when he came on. 6.
Emile Smith Rowe: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
Eddie Nketiah: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
