Aaron Ramsdale: Good with his distribution to earn some thumbs up from Mikel Arteta. Not called upon to make many saves but was concentrated and focused when needed. 7.
Ben White: Shrugged off suggestions that he might be dealing with an injury with a solid display. Didn't get up the pitch too much, but was defensively accomplished throughout. 7.
William Saliba: An imperious display from the Frenchman. Wasn't always dominant in the air but was on hand to mop up the knock downs from each aerial duel Ivan Toney won. A superb header for the goal as well. 9.

Gabriel: Looked to put up with an injury in the first half, but rose to have a very solid match. Mbuemo and Toney are tricky customers but the Brazilian kept them quiet for much of it. 8.
Kieran Tierney: Probably the best Kieran Tierney has played all season largely because he was asked to play like Kieran Tierney. Got forward to support the attack well and was defensively solid. Nearly even had a goal for good measure. 8.
Thomas Partey: Solid at the base of the midfield. Show some nice moments of close control to escape the opposition press. Arsenal will be happy that he came through the game unscathed. 7.
Granit Xhaka: A captain's performance from the leader for the day. Superb in his contribution to the attack including an assist for Jesus and ensured standard remained high in the second. Nice to hear fans chanting his name after their previously tumultuous relationship. 8.
Fabio Vieira: Capped off his first Premier League start for Arsenal with a sublime curling effort from the edge of the box. Never actually got into the game too much apart from that, but that'll be forgiven with the quality of his strike. 7.
Bukayo Saka: The best the England winger has played all season. Superb delivery from set pieces that caused Brentford problems. Excellent direct threat and two assists to add the end product. 8.
Gabriel Jesus: A top centre forward's display from the Brazilian. Held his own against much bigger players in Ben Mee and Pontus Jansson, while buzzing around the front line. A superb header to cap off the display. 9.
Gabriel Martinelli: Might have scored in the first half but got the shot stuck under his feet. Caused real problems with his close dribbling and often drifted central in ways that Brentford couldn't track. 7.
Substitutes -
Albert Sambi Lokonga: Sensible at the base of the midfield after coming on. These are the kind of games where Arteta should be giving him time to learn the six role. 7.
Eddie Nketiah: Showed good strength to cause the bigger Brentford defence some problems. Another decent cameo from the 23-year-old. 7.
Takehiro Tomiyasu: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
Ethan Nwaneri: Came on too late to influence the game, but is now the youngest player in Arsenal's Premier League history.
Marquinhos Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
