Arsenal player ratings vs Ajax as Rafaelle shines but Lina Hurtig struggles on debut

Manuella Zinsberger: Made some really good saves early on in the game particularly from powerful efforts by Leuchter. Could do little about the goal and was progressive with the ball where possible. 7.

Noelle Maritz: Played a little within herself and struggled to get forward as much as the team needed on the day. When she did wasn't decisive enough in the final third. Defensively solid though. 6.

Leah Williamson: Showed great initiative to dribble out from the back when Arsenal were struggling to break down the Ajax low block. Defensively solid throughout as well. 7.

Rafaelle: A truly world class display from the Brazilian on her first Champions League performance. Masterful on the ball, excellent under pressure, read the game beautifully, and hit the woodwork twice to be denied what would have been a more than deserved goal. 9.

Steph Catley: Will have been disappointed to be beaten on a duel that ultimately led to Ajax's opener. Couldn't combine that well with Hurtig, but looked more comfortable when playing with her international teammate Foord. 6.

Lia Walti: Economical in possession as ever at the base of the midfield. Coped well with Ajax's aggressive press and wasn't afraid to give it back where necessary. 7.

Kim Little: Struggled to give Arsenal the midfield penetration they needed in the first half, but really stepped things up in the second. A fine moment of composure to slot the penalty home too. 7.

Beth Mead: Struggled to really get into the game much with the lack of support on the right wing. Set piece delivery was solid though and caused problems for Ajax. 6.

Vivianne Miedema: Some nice touches on the edge of the box, but didn't cause Ajax as much threat in the game as she is definitely capable of. 6.

Lina Hurtig: Looked a little lightweight against Ajax's physicality and struggled to really get into the game from the left hand side. Not the greatest of full debuts for the Swede. 5.

Stina Blackstenius: Pressed the Ajax back line well and was a good focal point up front for the attack. Got a poacher's goal as well to level the scores. 8.

Substitutes -

Caitlin Foord: Made an instant impact after coming on for Hurtig down the left hand side. Dealt well with the physicality of Ajax far better and looked more of a threat. 7.

Katie McCabe: Scored what should have been the winning goal only to see it ruled out for a ridiculous offside call. Good addition to the attack after coming on though. 7.
