David Seaman has revealed that a Nottingham Forest defender highlighted the "frightening" speed of Arsenal's passing in their 5-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners ran out comfortable winners at the Emirates Stadium courtesy of a Reiss Nelson brace and goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard. It was a result that took them back to the top of the Premier League - leapfrogging Manchester City who had gone to the summit with a 1-0 success at Leicester.
However, Arsenal showed why they are potential title contenders with another home win, having dropped points at Southampton last time out. Mikel Arteta's side have now won 10 of their 12 league matches, losing just once against Manchester United back in September.
The Gunners' hammering of Forest was the first time they had scored five goals in a game this season, and it was a truly ruthless performance, with Arsenal posting an expected goals (xG) of just 2.78. They could've scored more on the day if Gabriel Jesus was more clinical, with the Brazilian missing two guilt-edge chances to add another to his tally.
Meanwhile, it was a horror show for Forest, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League on just nine points from their opening 13 games. And former Arsenal goalkeeper Seaman has admitted that he spoke to a Forest defender after the game, who was shocked about how good Arsenal were, as the Gunners sliced the visitors open with ease.
"I was chatting to one of the Forest defenders afterwards, I won’t name him, but he was saying that the slickness of Arsenal ’s passing and the speed of it was frightening," Seaman said, via HITC.

Reflecting on his side's win, Arteta said: "It was great, we certainly have been creating the chances to score and we haven’t been hitting the target enough, we have discussed that the whole week and today the individual talent obviously made the difference they scored some fantastic goals and they shared the goals which I think is important as well."
Nelson's brace came after Bukayo Saka was taken off through injury in the first-half, a moment which would've concerned many England fans ahead of the World Cup later this month. However, Arteta would focus on the positives, which was Nelson's performance.
He added: "I think not only me, but all his teammates and all the staff are so happy for him because he’s a kid that is he’s really changing, he’s really evolving, he’s really maturing and he’s showing every day how much he wants it and today he had an opportunity and he did extremely well because he helped us to win the game."
