Richarlison sheds light on Arsenal interest
Richarlison has revealed Chelsea and Arsenal were interested in signing him this summer before Tottenham made their move.
The Brazilian striker left Everton for North London in a deal worth £60million and is already winning over Spurs fans, but his season could have looked very different if the Lilywhites hadn't moved for his signature so quickly. Chelsea were heavily linked with a bid, while Arsenal were also thought to be in the running.
Speaking whilst on international duty with Brazil, Richarlison said (via Goal ): “I know Chelsea made an offer, and I believe Arsenal also contacted Everton to ask about my situation, but Spurs came in and paid the fee, you know? It’s as simple as that. Everton had to sell some players to avoid a Financial Fair Play problem, and the negotiations were very brief, to be honest.”

Fears growing over William Saliba contract
Arsenal defender Saliba has been a huge success in the Premier League this season but there are growing fears over his long term future as the Gunners stall on extending his current deal.

But a lack of clarity and urgency over the situation has raised plenty of cause for concern for Arsenal fans, with club legend Nigel Winterburn fearing the worst while urging Saliba to commit his future to the club.

Arsenal among clubs ‘tracking’ Villarreal hotshot
Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move for Villarreal's Alex Baena, who continues to impress in Spain.
The forward has enjoyed a stellar start to the campaign, scoring six times in 10 outings for the Yellow Submarine, as he continues to attract admiring glances from Premier League sides. Baena showcased his quality in Spain's second tier last term whilst playing for Girona and is now proving himself in La Liga.
Villarreal are out to retain their academy graduate, who has been on their books since 2011, by tying him down to a new deal, even though his contract runs until 2025. Baena's release clause means he would be available for just over £30million, according to Spanish outlet Sport, but his employers want to increase that figure.
