Emirates Stadium snubbed
The FA have confirmed that a preliminary bid dossier for the UK and the Republic of Ireland to host UEFA EURO 2028 has been submitted.
Government Partners of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and officials in Northern Ireland have all supported the bid, which would see games held across all of the UK and Ireland. The bid includes 14 proposed venues that would see fixtures held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London Stadium and Wembley Stadium in the English capital, but notably misses out Chelsea's Stamford Bridge and Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
Odegaard praised by ex-Premier League man
Fabrice Muamba has specifically highlighted Martin Odegaard as one of Arsenal's best performers this season with a flattering comparison to another left-footed creative spark that arrived in the Premier League from Spain.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, via HITC, the former Bolton and Tottenham midfielder said: “Odegaard, wow. This guy signed for Real Madrid at a young age and then moved to Arsenal on loan. My word he is a different player. He controls the momentum for Arsenal. He is David Silva. When David Silva was at City he was what he is for Arsenal.
"He controls the tempo of the game, his vision, he’s one of the best technical players in this league.
“Odegaard has matured a lot, he’s the captain, he’s a leader, he’s scoring goals and he’s defending. I can see why Arsenal went above and beyond to get this guy. Arteta saw something special in him.”
