Arsenal news: Marseille have William Saliba wish as Gunners can sign their own David Beckham

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Monday, March 7.

Saliba interest

According to La Provence via GFFN, Marseille are keen to keep Arsenal loanee William Saliba beyond this season.

The young centre-back is yet to make his first-team debut for the Gunners despite signing for a reported £30million back in the summer of 2019.

Arsenal can sign their very own Beckham

Arsenal will be looking to bolster their midfield options in the summer.

One name who's been touted with a move in recent weeks is Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse.

The Saints would likely demand a huge fee for their star player, who is currently valued between €40million-€50million (£33million-£41.31million) by CIES Football Observatory.

Now, Manchester City hero Micah Richards has claimed that Ward-Prowse is the most underrated player in the Premier League whilst also comparing him to Manchester United and England legend David Beckham.

“Yes, he’s the most underrated player in the Premier League for years," Richards told Gary Neville on the LadBible YouTube channel.

"People say he doesn’t have mobility but not for me.

"He works hard, he’s always 7/10. He has a great right foot.

“You know what lets him down? Because he’s so good at free-kicks – like David Beckham – people forget about all the other stuff he’s good at.”

Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp agree on Bukayo Saka

Sky Sports pundits Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp were full of praise for Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka on Sunday, believing the 20-year-old has a big future in the game.

The England international was involved with a goal and an assist in the first-half against Watford, helping his side to a 3-2 victory at Vicarage Road.

The win put the Gunners up to fourth and in the driving seat for a top four finish.
