Arsenal entertain Brighton in their Carabao Cup third round tie on Wednesday as they aim to take a step back from Premier League title charge duties.
The Gunners recorded a statement victory over the Blues to preserve their two point lead at the top of the table, although Rio Ferdinand believes club supporters will need a “reality check” as it’s still too early to draw conclusions. Elsewhere, William Saliba has been told how he can achieve legendary status in north London following his early season form.
Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest stories coming out of the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal need “reality check”
Manchester United legend Ferdinand believes Arsenal fans will need a “reality check” despite the Gunners’ leading the Premier league table after 10 wins from their first 12 games.
Mikel Arteta’s side secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday to preserve their two point lead over Manchester City, adding to victories over Tottenham and Liverpool already this season, but Ferdinand believes it is too early to draw conclusions on Arsenal’s title chances as Chelsea were without a number of players due to injuries.
"That was a patched up Chelsea team”, he told the Vibe with Five podcast. “I was so impressed with how Arsenal played but let’s have a little reality check. Arsenal are a serious team now but it wasn’t even their [Chelsea’s] first-team."

William Saliba given ‘legend’ advice
Arsenal defender Saliba has been told that he can achieve legendary status in north London if he can continue his excellent start to the season for the Gunners.
Saliba has started all 12 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season, helping to keep six clean sheets while registering two goals and an assist, and former Gunner Emmanuel Petit believes he can emulate John Terry’s achievements at Chelsea if he carries on the same way.
Speaking with Lord Ping, he said: “William Saliba is amazing. He has all the qualities to do the same as John Terry. He's very mature, came back to Arsenal with a lot of motivation and he's improved a lot as a human being as well as a footballer.”

Gabriel Jesus goal drought no problem
Former Arsenal defender Lauren believes Arsenal are still winning with Gabriel Jesus despite his nine-game goal drought.
The £45million summer signing has five goals and five assists in 13 Premier League matches this season but hasn’t hit the back of the net since the north London derby victory on October 1. However, Lauren believes the Gunners are still reaping the rewards from his arrival.
Speaking on behalf of 888sport, Lauren exclusively told Mirror Football : "When I saw Gabriel Jesus [on Sunday], he was fantastic. The way he didn't score but the fact he came and dropped into a deeper position, he attracted two or three [Chelsea] players and created the space for the [Arsenal] midfielders to attack it. If you keep him fit until the end of the season, we're gonna be there [in the title race]."
