Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Tuesday, August 16.
Pino update
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal target Yeremi Pino will cost around €50 million (£42 million) to sign this summer. “Many clubs have been following Yeremi Pino for months, he is a top player of the future that at least three Premier League clubs have been monitoring for some time,” Romano told CaughtOffside.
“No proposals have been made yet to Villarreal, who would like more than €50m for their young star; it will not be an easy negotiation.

“As for the rumours about Arsenal – Edu was not travelling to Spain to meet Villarreal, also because Pino’s agents are based in the UK (Stellar Group).”
Leadership group confirmed
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has nominated his three-man leadership group, with captain Martin Odegaard supported by midfielder Granit Xhaka and striker Gabriel Jesus, as per The Athletic. Xhaka previously donned the captain's armband during Unai Emery's time as head coach, although the Swiss international was eventually stripped of his captaincy duties after falling out with the fans following a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace back in 2019.
Meanwhile, Jesus' nomination may come as a surprise to some considering he only joined the club from Manchester City a month ago.

Arsenal chase 'complete' Kante
According to the Daily Mirror, via the Express, Arsenal are interested in Brighton midfielder Moises Caiceco. If the north Londoners were able to pull off a deal to bring the 20-year-old to north London, they would be getting a player similiar to Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, according to South American football expert Tim Vickery.
Speaking about the talented Ecuadorian to talkSPORT in February 2021, Vickery said: “He is a terrific athlete who makes football look easy. A box-to-box midfielder.
“A year ago he was saying that Kante of Chelsea is his role model but he is already more than that. He already offers more in the final third.
“That kind of box-to-box midfielder that’s very much in the tradition of the England game. Strong, quick, intelligent and cool. He really does look like the genuine article.”
