The dad of Arsenal loanee Miguel Azeez exchanged some fiery words with Wigan manager Shaun Maloney following the Latics' relegation to League 1.
Azeez arrived at the DW Stadium on loan during the January transfer window but he has struggled for game time since, featuring just twice in the league and spending much of his time featuring for their Under-23 side. He was left out of the matchday squad on Saturday as Wigan's 1-1 draw away to Reading condemned the visitors to relegation before some rather unsavoury moments occurred after the full-time whistle.
According to the Mirror, Wigan boss Maloney was approached by Azeez's brother Femi, who plays for Reading, as well as his father, who voiced their frustrations regarding Miguel’s lack of game time this term. The trio were said to have had a major argument in the centre circle as the Hale End academy graduate's opportunities were discussed.

Speaking ahead of the game, Azeez's father said: "Miguel hasn’t really had an easy time there [Wigan]. He started with Kolo Toure and the new manager came in and hasn’t really trusted him, which has been disappointing." The 20-year-old had spent the first half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at La Liga 2 side UD Ibiza before Arsenal decided to cut the spell short following a disappointing first half of the season in Spain.
He endured a similarly disappointing spell during his time with League 1 outfit Portsmouth last term before the Gunners recalled him in January 2022.
