Arsenal legend Alan Smith has explained why he thinks Gabriel Jesus is leaving Manchester City this summer.
Jesus' move to the Emirates Stadium is on the verge of being officially announced after he was spotted earlier this week meeting Arsenal's sporting director Edu. It is believed that City will receive £45m for the 25-year-old who has just a year remaining on his Blues contract.
It was predicted earlier this summer that the arrival of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez at the Etihad Stadium would lead to Jesus leaving the club and it seems to have proven that way. Speaking to Sky Sports, former Gunners forward Smith believes that the Brazilian will have a point to prove in North London.

He said: " Jesus is somebody who fits the profile, age-wise, and I think he is a player that has got something to prove now. He wants to kick on in his career, he wants to play regularly and as a striker that is so important.
"He has played down the right last season more often than he did through the middle. Obviously he was in and out of the team, he was a substitute so he wants to be first choice.
"I think it that desire and that hunger is what [Mikel] Arteta is after. Players that do want to prove themselves and aren't coasting.
" Jesus can turn into a very good central striker now that he has joined Arsenal. I think that will be the attraction, the fact that a lot of clubs were after him but he might not have played regularly."
