Arsenal appear to have learn from past transfer mistakes as football.london understands that the north Londoners will look to include a buy-back clause in any deal that allows Charlie Patino to leave the club.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein initially reported that the Gunners were open to facilitating Patino's summer departure as the talented midfielder looks for consistent game time, with another loan move not thought to be an option. football.london came to learn that it is very much a timing issue that has befallen the 19-year-old, with the club keen to significantly strengthen Mikel Arteta's midfield options in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have previously sold similarly talented youngsters, namely Serge Gnabry and Ismael Bennacer, who have since established themselves as two highly regarded players for Bayern Munich and AC Milan respectively. But they are now keen to have the option to bring back Patino if he develops into a first-team calibre player in the coming years.

It is a sensible move from the Gunners, who have quickly developed into one of the smarter operators in the Premier League when it comes to the transfer market. Arteta and sporting director Edu are likely to be extremely active again when it comes to signings once the current campaign ends.
West Ham United captain Declan Rice remains the club's priority for the summer, football.london understands. The 24-year-old has made it no secret of his desire to play in the UEFA Champions League sooner rather than later, a competition that the north London outfit have qualified for.
"100% I want to play in the Champions League," he said back in November 2022. "For the last two or three years I’ve been saying that.
"I’ve been playing consistently well for my club and I feel like I really want to keep pushing. I see my friends here who are playing Champions League and for big trophies.
"You only get one career and at the end you want to look back at what you’ve won and the biggest games you’ve played in."
