Arsenal 'interested' in £25m star as Edu takes on Atletico Madrid in transfer battle

Arsenal are keen to sign Udinese defender Nahuel Molina, according to recent reports from Spain.

football.london understands that the north Londoners are in the market for at least one fullback this summer, with the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Hector Bellerin both expected to leave. Left-backs Aaron Hickey, Olexandr Zinchenko and Federico Dimarco have all been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium following yet another injury-hit season for Scottish international Kieran Tierney.

Now, it is Argentine right-back, Molina, that Marca claim the Gunners are pursuing. The 24-year-old, who is valued between €20million-€30million (£17million-£25million) by CIES Football Observatory, has reportedly garnered interest from Arsenal, Serie A giants Juventus and La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, who are said to be in the market for a Kieran Trippier replacement.

The Udinese star is an attacking fullback, consistently bombing down the right flank, illustrated by the fact he netted seven league goals and registered an impressive 3.7xA (expected) assists last term, admitting that he tries to mirror the likes of Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold on the pitch.

Speaking about the defenders he tried to emulate to Tuttosport, via GetItalianFootballNews, he said: "My favourites are Alexander-Arnold, Reece James of Chelsea and the Man City duo of (Joao) Cancelo and (Kyle) Walker.” However, he still has a lot to work on defensively and could struggle with the physicality of the Premier League if he was to join.

He certainly isn't as defensively sound as Arsenal's first-choice right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu, who enjoyed an excellent debut season after joining from Bologna back in August last year.
