Arsenal are the latest London club to register an interest in Brighton star Leandro Trossard after Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the Belgian international since the summer. Tottenham have also been looking at Trossard, who recently saw his contract that was due to expire at the end of the season extended by another year, meaning Brighton can now likely demand a larger fee if a team pushes for a move.
After Graham Potter's departure from the South coast to join Chelsea as their new manager, the Blues understandably became interested in signing Trossard, with Potter key to his development as a well-rounded player able to thrive in the Premier League.

Antonio Conte's Spurs then joined the race after Trossard's agent reportedly offered his client to Spurs, along with many other Premier League clubs, with Manchester United and Liverpool immediately turning down the offer.
Arsenal are now monitoring Trossard's situation and he could be viewed as a potential Mykhaylo Mudryk alternative, with the Gunners locked in negotiations with Shakhtar for the 22-year-old.
Edu has had previous dealings involving transfers with Brighton, agreeing a £50million deal to sign Ben White from the Seagulls in 2021, and that is something they could potentially use to their advantage, both in regards to a working relationship and offering sizeable fee to Brighton for one of their players.
TalkSPORT's Alex Crook has shared the latest update on Trossard revealing Spurs' interest is genuine and that a departure for the former Genk man is likely given Brighton's previous stances on selling their best players.
“I think Brighton are always willing to let players go if they think they’re getting value for money,” he told GiveMeSport. "They showed that with Marc Cucurella, Ben White and Yves Bissouma.
“I’m told Tottenham’s interest is genuine, this is more than just paper talk but they haven’t made a bid yet.
“What Brighton have done, quite crucially, is they have protected themselves because they have triggered the one-year option in his contract.
“He is contracted until the summer of 2024, so I think it takes a decent bid to get him away.”
Although Tottenham and Chelsea may feel they hold a similar advantage with Cucurella leaving Brighton for Chelsea and Bissouma departing the club for Tottenham. However, the Blues have poached almost all of the background staff at Brighton and the Seagulls may have felt short-changed by the deal involving Bissouma with Spurs paying just £25million up front, with a further £10million available in add-ons.
Arsenal's interest perhaps isn't as concrete as their London rivals, but given their position at the top of the Premier League and their ongoing saga with Shakhtar for Mudryk, Trossard could become the best option for the north Londoners.
