Arsenal are looking to complete the signing of Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos this summer but a deal is causing increasing drama. Latest reports indicate that Wolves could take legal action against the player, alleging that he had previously signed an agreement to move to Molineux.
Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster his side ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. With Europa League football on the cards next term, the Spaniard is eager to ensure his side are able to challenge on multiple fronts which will mean improving the depth available significantly.
They appear to be close to making their first signing too. Marquinhos is reported to have had his medical in London in the past few days before joining Arteta's side but trouble may still be on the horizon for the 19-year-old. According to journalist Jorge Nicola, via SportWitness, Wolves claim he signed a pre-contract agreement with them and are now planning legal action against Marquinhos as a result.

Wolves were reported as competing for the signature of the player earlier this season when the rumours first emerged but it now appears the situation may have been more advanced than it seemed. According to Nicola's report, Bruno Lage's side believed they had agreed a pre-contract agreement with Marquinhos and that by signing for Arsenal, he is breaking that legal agreement.
However, it will not affect the Gunners' deal it seems as the club have 'legal guarantees' even if payments have not yet been sent. It does not appear that we have heard the last of this, with Wolves hiring a law firm in Brazil to file a suit against the player.
