Arsenal can sign Franck Kessie on a free transfer
According to ESPN, Andreas Christensen and Kessie could Barcelona as free agents before Saturday. The club is concerned about their current situation after being unable to register both players due to financial difficulties.
This gives Arsenal an excellent opportunity to pounce on Kessie's situation and sign him before the end of the transfer window. The Gunners had been linked with a move for the midfielder earlier in the season.
The Mirror claimed that Arsenal, along with Manchester United and Spurs, were interested in securing the Ivorian's services. Kessie is still only 24 years old but has the necessary Champions League experience and has been a Serie A regular for over five seasons.
Edu given Cody Gakpo boost
Edu has been given another boost in chasing the Dutchman's signature after it emerged that Leeds United are reportedly set to sign Ismaila Sarr. Both Gakpo and Sarr feature in the same position, which would rule them out of the race to sign another winger.
According to French news outlet Foot Mercato, Leeds are close to an agreement with Watford to sign Sarr. The Senegalese international has been on form for the Hornets, which was highlighted by his wonderful goal against West Brom on Monday evening.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had reported that Leeds were also chasing Gakpo. But, this deal is now unlikely to happen as Sarr and Gakpo play in the same position.
Houssem Aouar transfer bid
According to French news outlet Foot Mercato Houssem Aouar, who had previously been close to a move to Arsenal, is now Leicester City's priority target to replace James Maddison, who has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle. Sky Sports have reported that the Magpies have registered two bids for the former Arsenal target.
Aouar has a lot of versatility in the centre of midfield, with the Frenchman able to play directly in the middle of the park or in a more advanced role. With him able to cover multiple positions in the midfield, Leicester could be more willing to sell Tielemans, which could give Arsenal more encouragement to complete a deal.
However, French news outlet L’Équipe have reported that Nottingham Forest have made their first offer for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who is, for the third summer in a row, expected to leave OL before September. The newly-promoted Premier League club have been in contact with the player's entourage for several days, say the sports daily, and their offer is the most concrete of the interest received for the player this summer.
