Arsenal's transfer pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has taken a huge step forward as it emerged the Gunners are set to win the race to acquire his services. Mudryk labelled the 'Ukrainian Neymar', has long been linked with a move across Europe after his performances this season.
Mudryk, 21, has been one of the names tipped to join Mikel Arteta's side in the January transfer window ahead of the club's first title race since 2016. Arsenal sit top of the Premier League table after winning 12 of their opening 14 games of the season and sit five points clear of Manchester City.
It's understood that technical director Edu and Arteta are considering dipping into the market in the winter window to bolster the Gunners squad to ensure they have the best possible chance of lifting their first league title since 2004. The central midfield and wide positions are said to be the priorities, and Mudryk has grown as Arteta's number-one target after his sizzling form in Ukraine.
