Arsenal handed major Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard injury boosts ahead of Fulham clash

Arsenal forwards Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard are both in contention to make the matchday squad for today's Premier League clash against Fulham, according to Goal.

Their report claims that the two attackers have a chance of featuring for the must-win match at Craven Cottage, a major boost for Mikel Arteta considering Eddie Nketiah will miss the match against Marco Silva's side. Trossard was withdrawn in the 22nd minute of last week's dramatic 3-2 victory over Bournemouth after sustaining a groin injury.

Meanwhile, Jesus has been sidelined for over three months after suffering a medial collateral ligament injury during Brazil's World Cup campaign back in November of last year. The 25-year-old eventually needed surgery in what was a huge blow to the Gunners, considering how instrumental he had been prior to the injury, providing ten goals and assists in just 14 Premier League outings.

Jesus is now nearing his return to action but manager Mikel Arteta has constantly reiterated that he will not rush the former Manchester City frontman back until he is completely ready. Speaking about the talented striker on Wednesday evening, Arteta told football.london : "We will try not to rush him back.

"We will try to make a fair assessment between what he needs and when is comfortable and as well giving the team a boost that it's going to need in the next few weeks for sure.

"Everything is going well, he needs time as well to get himself that confidence and that physical state that is necessary to compete with a free mind and once he's free to do that, we will throw him in."
