Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of a first Premier League title in 19 years. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was not spotted taking part in training ahead of their clash against Liverpool this weekend.
Haaland has scored 42 goals in all competitions this season after having an instant impact following his transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer. The 22-year-old is currently leading the golden boot race with 28 goals in just 26 games for the reigning Premier League champions but could be sidelined for a number of games with a groin problem.
The Norwegian FA confirmed that Haaland had been withdrawn from the squad ahead of their games against Spain and Georgia in the international break due to a groin injury. A statement from the Norwegian Football Federation read: "Erling Braut Haaland had some pain in his groin after the match against Burnley.

"We hoped that this was just a familiarity that would carry over to Saturday. After doing tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he will not make it to the games against Spain and Georgia."
Haaland was not pictured in training as City prepared for their huge game against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. Pep Guardiola looks set to be without his top goal scorer meaning Julian Alvarez could start against the Reds.
Haaland's absence will come as a huge blow for City as it weakens their chances of winning if they are without their in-form striker. Arsenal will hope that the reigning Premier League champions drop points against Liverpool as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table with a win against Leeds United.
The Gunners hold an eight-point advantage over City at present, but Guardiola's side do have a crucial game in hand still to play. Mikel Arteta's side will travel to the Etihad Stadium towards the end of April in a potential title-deciding clash, which Haaland is expected to be back fit for.
