We are all aware of the famous comic football phrase ‘Project Mbappe’ but former Arsenal maestro Santi Cazorla has shown that 'Project Cazorla' is already underway and looking very impressive.
Arsenal fans were previously given a glimpse of Enzo Cazorla’s ability, having witnessed him at the tender age of 5 years-old when he showed his skills on the Emirates Stadium pitch at the end of the final game of the 2015/16 Premier League season.
Enzo Cazorla could hardly wish for a better coach in father Santi Cazorla. Having registered 74 G/A’s throughout his 180 game Arsenal career, Cazorla was incredibly effective.
However, it was not just his direct goal contribution that set him apart. With technique and movement as good as any player in Europe during his prime years, Santi Cazorla was a real entertainer.
Winning two FA Cups and two community shields during his time at the North London club, it would be fair to suggest that Santi Cazorla is considered one of Arsenal’s true cult heroes.
Currently plying his trade for Al Sadd SC, there is still plenty of fuel left in the Santi Cazorla tank following an impressive albeit injury stricken career.
Having amassed 18 G/A’s in 18 games throughout the 2021/22 season, Santi Cazorla is clearly enjoying his football once again.
And he seems to be enjoying life away from the pitch too, posting a video onto his Instagram feed showing footage of his son Enzo comfortably riding a tackle before humiliating the goalkeeper, rounding him to walk into an open goal.
Whether or not Arsenal fans one day get to see Enzo Cazorla fill his father’s shoes in the famous red and white of Arsenal, it is good to see that the Cazorla footballing ability gene has been passed on.
