Arsenal have been handed a major scare after Gabriel Jesus suffered a knee injury.
Jesus sustained what Arsenal have described as a “minor knee issue” ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie with Liverpool, which Arsenal lost 2-0.
Arsenal will hope the injury is not a serious issue but it is unclear how long the Brazilian will be out.
“Gabriel Jesus misses out on today's squad with a minor knee issue,” said Arsenal.
Speaking after the loss to Liverpool, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said: "He had some pain in his knee. We have done a scan that shows something.
"Hopefully it’s not something big."
Jesus missed the start of the season after undergoing knee surgery last term.
He also missed several weeks in October and November with a hamstring injury.
After the Liverpool game, Arsenal are next in action against Crystal Palace on January 20.
They then travel to Nottingham Forest 10 days later.
Losing Jesus would be a major blow to the Gunners, whose title challenge has faltered in recent weeks.
