Arsenal have ultimately had the last laugh over Wolves.
Following events at the final whistle when the two sides met at Molineux earlier in the month, there was certainly an extra edge going into Thursday night's rearranged game at the Emirates Stadium.
This was mainly down to Wolves' being an unhappy camp after losing 1-0 as Ruben Neves was extremely vocal in his criticism of the Arsenal players for what he perceived as over-exuberant celebrations.
"We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are," he said. "I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league."
If Neves didn't like the post-game celebrations from the Gunners players then, he wouldn't have enjoyed what happened after Alexandre Lacazette forced an injury-time own goal from Jose Sa to give the hosts all three points on Thursday night.
In fact, some Arsenal fans on Reddit thoroughly enjoyed Aaron Ramsdale 's reaction when the full-time whistle blew.
It just so happened that the goalkeeper and Neves were in close proximity at the end of the game and the cameras picked up the Gunners no.32 celebrating with his hands in the air.
What supporters liked most about Ramsdale's actions was that he did it right in front of the Portgual international who, at the time, had his head in his hands.
As a result, there's a brilliant demand for the England international to have his own statue outside the Emirates and comparisons to an Arsenal legend in Martin Keown.
TriangleGooners said: "Keown vibes."
DanInDistress said: "Get this man a statue!"
PoliQU said: "I love this man."
aminoffthedon said: "Legend in the making."
SmithRowe said: "That's it. That's the statue right there."
With that said, there were no complaints from Neves following Wolves' latest defeat at the hands of Arsenal, admitting his side didn't deserve to tale all three points.
"We didn't deserve to win to be honest," he told reporters. "We had some good chances to score, but we didn't play well. They took us back all the game after going 1-0 up and we just defended.
"When you don't have the ball against these kind of teams you will suffer."
