Arsenal fans spot Lacazette’s three-word hint to Aubameyang after Barcelona transfer confirmed

Arsenal fans have spotted a cryptic hint dropped by forward Alexandre Lacazette after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw his protracted move to Barcelona confirmed.

The former Gunners’ captain completed a move to the Camp Nou over recent days, his switch finally being announced despite the January transfer window shutting days before.

The move signals the end of Aubameyang’s four-year spell at the Emirates Stadium - a period that has seen the Gabonese strike up a great friendship with Lacazette.

Following confirmation of the former’s switch to the Camp Nou, the Frenchman took to Twitter to bid farewell to his former striker partner and might well have dropped a significant hint on his own future.

He wrote: “My bro!!

“Thanks for the last 4 years, my experience in arsenal would have been different without you… Wish you good luck in your next chapter!

“See you soon.”

The last sentence in particular got fans on social media talking regarding Lacazette’s own future as an Arsenal player.

He sees his current contract in north London end at the end of the season, with the striker now being permitted to open pre-contract talks with any interested party.

Intriguingly, he has been linked with a switch to Barcelona in the past - a fact that was not lost on Arsenal fans.

Here are the best of their responses from social media.

As it stands, Lacazette is in line for a final few months at the Emirates Stadium - a period in which he will hope to help in earning a place back in the Champions League for the Gunners.

The Frenchman is just one of two outright striking options available to Mikel Arteta for the remainder of the season - the other being Hale End Academy graduate Eddie Nketiah.

Lacazette has been with Arsenal since 2017, scoring 70 goals in 192 outings for the club in all competitions.
