Arsenal are eyeing a return for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, according to reports. It comes amid uncertainty over the Germany international's future in Bavaria, with his contract expiring next season.
The 26-year-old had come through the academy at Hale End, making his way to the first team through several loans with other clubs. Despite having so much promise, the forward only managed 18 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring once and assisting twice.
Gnabry eventually left North London, making a move to Werder Bremen in Germany for roughly £4.5million in 2016. It didn't take long to impress as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich snapped him up one-year later for £7.5million.

Since then, he's managed 171 appearances for the club, scoring 64 and assisting 40 across all competitions. That stint has seen him win 12 trophies, becoming a serial winner.
However, there is speculation over his future as Gnabry enters the final 12-months of his contract in Germany, with little sign of a resolution in sight. This has opened up the possibility of a return to the Emirates, as journalist Christian Falk confirmed on social media.
The reporter claims that the Gunners hold interest, and the forward could picture a return, however, it would likely be in 2023 as a free agent due to the difficulty of the financial package this summer with a lack of Champions League football. It would be a huge boost if they could land Gnabry, especially given his support for the club in the past.
Speaking to Pro Direct Soccer back in 2019, he claimed he was "Always a Gunner." Something that could become a reality again if he were to return next summer.
