Arsenal drop early team news hint for PSV clash as Mikel Arteta makes huge squad 'decision'

Arsenal managed to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four-points on Sunday as they recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road. While that could prove to be a huge moment, they have little time to enjoy the victory as the games come thick and fast.

Next up is another Europa League tie as they host PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates Stadium - a rescheduled clash after policing issues postponed the original date. Victory would assure the side make it through the group stages and would be five points clear of second with only six points available.

“It’s a competition that is really important for us, we know how important it is to be on top of that group...” Mikel Arteta said on the Europa League earlier this season. "Playing in Europe is always great and tomorrow I think we’re going to have a great atmosphere again at the Emirates. We want to produce those nights and we know that we want to be playing yesterday and today [in the Champions League], but at the moment it’s our reality and we have to accept it. It’s part of our next step.”

The manager has often looked to rotate his side in Europe so far, while also keeping some of his first-team stars in for occasional games. This has kept the squad fresh enough so far, allowing them to take the Premier League as seriously as they have so far.

It remains to be seen if that will be the case for when they face off against their Dutch counterparts on Thursday though, given how crucial the game is to deciding the group. With that decision on the horizon, it appears as though Arteta has already made a big decision on the squad for the clash.

According to the Daily Cannon, youngster Khayon Edwards has stayed on with the first-team after being promoted from the under-21s squad. This is so he can feature in the squad against PSV, despite the youth side facing off against Northampton Town on Tuesday night.

Whether he will receive minutes is still unknown, but it appears to be an early indication as to who will be involved as well as how well the 19-year-old striker is thought of.
