The January transfer window has now been open for more than a week and talk involving Arsenal continues to dominate the headlines.
According to The Mail, the Gunners are in talks with Atletico Madrid regarding a potential loan move for wantaway attacker Joao Felix, although the Spanish club's requested fee is said to remain a sticking point. It isn't just Mikel Arteta's men who have been linked with a January swoop for Felix, with fellow Premier League giants Manchester United also keen on the 23-year-old, who arrived in Madrid for a club-record fee of £113 million back in 2019.
As per our sister title the Manchester Evening News, United are also keen to bring another frontman to Old Trafford in the form of veteran striker Wout Weghorst and the Red Devils are confident of completing a loan move for the Dutchman. However, Portuguese outlet A Bola have now claimed that Weghorst will not be offered the chance to wear United's famous no. 7 shirt, an honour that CEO Richard Arnold is said to have promised Felix instead.

It remains to be seen where Felix's future lies but if recent comments from Atletico president Enrique Cerezo are to be believed, the Portuguese international may end up staying at the Metropolitano Stadium after all. Speaking to DAZN, via Teamtalk, Cerezo said: “João Félix future?
"I always say the players play where in the club that they want… I don't know where João wants to play. I think he's now feeling so good here at Atléti. It depends on João and on the situation."
Cerezo added: "Nothing is impossible in life, but the normal thing is that Joao Felix stays at Atletico Madrid."
