Arsenal have continued their rebuild by signing the Spain goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez on a free transfer. The 27‑year‑old arrives after spending the past six years at Real Madrid.

The Women’s Super League side have already added Georgia Stanway (Bayern Munich), Selina Cerci (Hoffenheim), Ona Batlle (Barcelona) and Géraldine Reuteler (Eintracht Frankfurt) as they aim to challenge for the title. Last season they finished runners-up, four points behind the champions, Manchester City.
