Arsenal are considering a shock move for Leicester City wing-back Timothy Castagne, according to reports from Belgium. The Gunners are working on signing a number of targets this summer, with midfield and defence at the top of sporting director Edu Gaspar's list.
West Ham star Declan Rice is the priority, football.london understands, with Brighton's Moises Caicedo also on their list. Yet, many have suggested defensive reinforcements are vital ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.
Centre-back has been mooted as an area of concern following William Saliba's season-defining injury proving costly in the Premier League title race, but it's at right-back where the likes of Ivan Fresneda and Sacha Boey strongly linked with a move.
Now, Castagne is the latest name tipped to complete a move to north London. According to Het Belang van Limburg via Sport Witness, the Gunners are one of many suitors considering a move for the 27-year-old.
Since joining Leicester in 2020, the right-back has played over 110 games, scoring five and assisting eight. However, the former Atalanta man is expected to be made available for significantly less than his market value following the Foxes' relegation to the Championship.
The report suggests the upcoming international break will provide Castagne, as well as a number of players, a platform to showcase his skills ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arteta is said to be considering a move for a new right-back to deputise for Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Japan international has had an injury-hit campaign, forcing Ben White to fill in.
Castagne would come with experience in the Champions League, an advantage he has over Boey and Fresneda. He featured six times in Atalanta's run to the quarter-finals in 2020, eventually losing to Paris Saint-Germain 2-1.
Castagne isn't the only Leicester player Arsenal have been linked with. Various reports have stated the Gunners are interested in midfielder James Maddison, with Newcastle and Tottenham said to be leading the race for his signature.
