Another Arsenal season has been consigned to the history books and Mikel Arteta can look back on it with mixed emotions. On one hand, his side have qualified for Europe, but it's still a case of what could have been after being pipped to a Champions League spot by Tottenham Hotspur.
But there's no time to dwell too long on failing to finish fourth despite holding a four-point lead over Spurs with three games remaining as in just over a month's time many Gunners players will be reporting to London Colney for pre-season training ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Although, there's a good chance that some have already cleared out their locker rooms at the training base as Arteta's overhaul of the Arsenal first-team squad is expected to continue this summer with Matteo Guendouzi to Marseille and Konstantinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart the first permanent deals confirmed.

As things stand, three first-team players are out of contract at the end of next month. Whether any of Alexandre Lacazette, Mohamed Elneny or Eddie Nketiah end up leaving or staying remains to be seen as nothing has been confirmed or announced by the club just yet.
Now, it's safe to assume Elneny is the closest of the three to be staying at Arsenal after he was spotted signing a new contract following the 5-1 thrashing of Everton at the Emirates Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season. Meanwhile, football.london understands Nketiah has been offered an extension on a few occasions, but Lacazette is unlikely to be offered one.
With another busy summer transfer window for the Gunners on the horizon, it's likely more players who are confirmed to be under contract with the club next season will be seeking pastures new with Bernd Leno and Nicolas Pepe as well as several members of the loan army likely to leave.
Considering Arteta revealed after the win against the Toffees that 'awkward' decisions have been made regarding the futures of Lacazette, Elneny and Nketiah, it will be interesting to discover who else he has decided will be sold or kept on this summer. With that said, here’s a look at the first-team players still under contract for next season at Arsenal.
