Arsenal confirm $63.7m Mikel Arteta transfer demand amid Juventus and AC Milan link

Arsenal will demand £50million ($63.7million) for Folarin Balogun this summer, according to reports.

The USMNT star has continued to be the subject of interest from around Europe following his superb loan spell in France with Stade Reims. Balogun scored 21 goals in France, outscoring Wissam Ben Yedder, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Since the 2022/23 season finished in May, much has been made of Balogun's potential involvement within Mikel Arteta's side next term. Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Eddie Nketiah are all ahead of the New York-born striker, leaving him with the only option to leave the club.

"I'm not sure [about] discussions that are going to take place," he said after scoring in the USA's Nations League final with Canada.

"I'm not sure what's going to happen. But I'm just committed to now; I try to stay present. I obviously want to enjoy the moment with my team and my family. What I can say is that I definitely won't go on loan again."

Balogun's stance on leaving temporarily means the Gunners must consider selling the striker. A host of clubs are tracking his situation at Arsenal with AC Milan, Inter, Napoli, West Ham and Marseille all said to be amongst those keen.

It's likely that Balogun's sale would be viewed as a move to raise the funds available to Edu Gaspar this summer. So far, the spending is close to passing the £200million ($254.5million) mark through the signings of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.

Ahead of their return to the Champions League next season, the spending isn't expected to slow down with just three players. Any further sales completed in the coming days are due to play an important role in potential moves for Aymeric Laporte or Romeo Lavia.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have slapped a £50million price tag on the striker and are aware of Balogun's preference not to leave the club on loan.

Any potential buyer will have to offer close to the Gunners' valuation, a deal that would see him become the club's most expensive departure - which currently sits at £32.5million through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's sale to Liverpool in 2017.

The report from Sky also claims that Arsenal are considering the futures of Nicolas Pepe, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, Cedric Soares and Marquinhos.
