Arsenal are looking to bolster their squad significantly this summer as they prepare for a return to the Champions League and another Premier League title bid.
One area the Gunners are keen to strengthen is out wide, with manager Mikel Arteta targeting a new winger. Arsenal did sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton in January for around £27m, but academy graduate Reiss Nelson is expected to depart the Emirates this summer with his contract due to expire.
As a result, a winger is certainly on Arsenal's radar and Spanish outlet Sport claim the Gunners may finally be able to sign Raphinha this summer. Arsenal were first linked with the Brazil international last summer, but he ultimately ended up joining Barcelona instead.
They also reportedly made a move for him in January, but were rebuffed as the player was keen to remain at Barcelona. However, Sport now claim Raphinha is 'considering leaving' Barcelona this summer due to a lack of game time, with the majority of his appearances this season coming off the bench.
The report states that the 26-year-old has a number of 'juicy offers from the Premier League', with Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle all said to be interested in his services. It adds that Arsenal have been 'insisting for many months' with the club's sporting director Edu making 'constant calls' to Raphinha's representatives.
Speaking back in March, Edu opened up about Arsenal's summer transfer plans, insisting they were "well-prepared" for the window. "It's already started [preparation for the summer], you know what's happening [in] the market," he said.
"Everybody's working, everybody's doing stuff, you have to plan ahead of people to be prepared, and when it gets to the summer, we are well-prepared. I think we are in the right place, in terms of planning.
"The performance of the team the way we are doing at the moment of course is special. I see around us everybody wants to follow us, watch us, I receive a lot of messages from Brazil, from South America, it's very nice to receive them.
"We are excited by the place we are at the moment, but we have to understand still it's a journey. There are still things to do, we are happy to be in the moment we are now, but we have to understand there are still things in front of us."
