The English Football Association are set to reintroduce FA Cup replays for the third and fourth round this season. The competition had scrapped the extra matches in those rounds previously, however they appear to be making a return.
The report from Sky Sports News comes at a controversial time, where the number of fixtures and player welfare are both being spoken about more often. This season is especially unique in the fact that the World Cup - often played in the summer - is being played in the middle of the campaign and offsetting the whole schedule.
That means the majority of November and December games have had to be moved, opting for more midweek games in the packed months ahead. This has led to plenty of concerns over the welfare of staff, with the relentless nature of football in such a busy year.
