Arsenal announce release list ahead of 2022/23 season as seven players bid farewell

Arsenal have announced their list of released players ahead of the new season with as many as seven departures confirmed across the men's and women's first-team squad as well as the U23s and U18s.

Of course, one exit that supporters were already aware of is Alexandre Lacazette's. After five years in north London, the Frenchman will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the month and from July 1 he will officially be a Lyon player once again after signing a three-year deal.

As things stand, Lacazette is the only Arsenal men's first-team player that will certainly depart on June 30 as via the club's official website it has been communicated that Eddie Nketiah has been offered a new contract and that discussions are ongoing. The same applies to Women's goalkeeper Lydia Williams.

Therefore, Lisa Evans, Tobin Heath and Viktoria Schnaderbeck have already left as their contracts expired at the end of May, whilst Lacazette, Jonathan Dinzeyi, Joel Lopez and Jordan McEneff's imminent departures mean that overall seven players will not be playing for Arsenal next season.

Below is confirmation of the release list.

Men’s and Women’s first-team squads:
Lisa Evans
Tobin Heath
Alex Lacazette
Eddie Nketiah (contract offered, ongoing discussions)

"Please note, any further developments regarding players extending their contracts; joining/re-joining us; or leaving us will be officially communicated as soon as they are confirmed," a statement reads. "We thank all the above players for their contributions to the club during the periods of their permanent or loan contracts with us.

"You will always be part of the Arsenal Family and we wish you all the best of health, happiness and success in your futures."
