Arsenal announce Per Mertesacker exit with academy succession plan needed

Per Mertesacker will leave his role as Arsenal's academy manager at the end of the season.

The German has overseen the club's youth ranks since 2018, moving straight into that position after retiring as a player. Mertesacker was club captain at Arsenal in his final season and has remained a key figure in the eight years since then.
