Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly face a £50m problem ahead of Erik ten Hag's Manchester United arrival, with the news that the Dutchman is set to make a move for Ajax wideman Antony. The Dutchman has been announced as the new Manchester United boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal earlier this season.
The Red Devils had turned to Ralf Rangnick as an interim option whilst they conducted their search for a more permanent option, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly in the frame for the position. However, with ten Hag now in charge, he is set to lead the restoration project at Old Trafford.
It appears that he has already started his transfer planning - and is eyeing a move for an Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target. According to The Sun, ten Hag is eyeing a move for winger Antony - the Brazilian having starred under him with Ajax over the past few seasons.

Having arrived from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2020, he has gone on to become one of the shining lights of the Ajax side under ten Hag and is currently in the midst of a hugely impressive season. He has 12 goals and ten assists to his name in all competitions thus far this term and has been a huge driving force behind the Amsterdam giants' assault on the Eredivisie crown - as well as an extended run in the Champions League.
The reports have suggested that the Brazilian is seen as an excellent addition, with ten Hag expected to kick-off his Old Trafford overhaul sooner rather than later. Whilst the Red Devils appear interested, it has been previously been suggested that the north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham were eyeing a move for the 22-year-old.
CalcioMercato previously reported that the Gunners were one of those clubs tracking the Ajax star, with the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain also noted as admirers. Meanwhile, it is suggested that Tottenham requested information regarding his future but instead elected to pursue Juventus wideman Dejan Kulusevski instead - the Swede having enjoyed a bright start to life in north London.
It remains to be seen quite where Antony's future lies, but any deal is not expected to be cheap. The Sun have suggested that a transfer could potentially cost in excess of £50m, a figure that likely leaves both Arsenal and Spurs with considerable dilemmas.
The Gunners likely have more pressing transfer priorities in their squad - particularly in midfield and at striker - so a question would be asked should they choose to use up a considerable amount of funds in a position that is not needed. Spurs, meanwhile, already have the services of Kulusevski - as well as Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and more in wide positions - so they do not need to recruit another wideman.
