Arsenal and Chelsea given major Dusan Vlahovic transfer boost amid Massimiliano Allegri claim

Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a January transfer away from Juventus after the entire board of the Italian club resigned which could have significant financial implications forcing them to sell star assets. The Serb only joined Juventus earlier this year but has attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Gunners were interested in Vlahovic last January but the Serbia international opted to remain in Italy as he joined Juventus from Fiorentina for £70million, although he has struggled to replicate the goal-scoring form shown in Florence. Vlahovic has scored 16 goals from 36 games for Juve, with seven coming in this campaign.

An adductor injury saw him miss Juventus' final five games before the World Cup break but he was able to play a role for his country in Qatar, albeit in cameo appearances mostly.

Vlahovic scored in his nation's final group fixture against Switzerland, but a 3-2 defeat saw them exit the competition bottom of group G. United, Chelsea and Arsenal remain interested though, especially given the recent losses to the latter two's respective frontlines.

Gabriel Jesus looks set to be out until February at the earliest with a knee injury, whilst Armando Broja recently underwent surgery to repair his ACL and will thus miss the remainder of the season. January will likely be a month where both clubs recruit a striker or potentially a versatile attacker, and Vlahovic could certainly be the answer.

Although a deal would be complicated to pull off, his agent, Darko Ristic, has said that a January move can't be ruled out. Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport write that Ristic is aware of the interest from Premier League clubs and that, although Juventus would prefer to try and wait until the summer to even vaguely entertain offers, are aware that something could come much earlier.

Following on from Ristic's claim, it looks as though interested suitors have been handed another transfer boost for Vlahovic with Ben Jacobs revealing Juventus' financial issues aren't the only reason the 22-year-old could leave Italy.

He told GiveMeSport: "We know that Vlahovic has been on Arsenal’s radar because they quite bullishly, in January, tried to sign him, and all it really did was catalyse Juventus’ push to sign Vlahovic earlier.

“And now, there’s a feeling from sources that because of Juventus’ uncertain situation, they’re under investigation for alleged financial malpractice, who knows, sporting sanctions are not out of the question, but more importantly because the Italian system allows for all kinds of different appeals.

“So, more important than the actual sporting sanctions is actually just the fact that it’s not thought that Vlahovic is particularly happy under Max Allegri. And because of that, I think that he is open to a move and Juventus are, at the same time, quite prepared to entertain offers and see what happens.”
