ARRESTS have been made following the alleged murder of Anthony Ferns in Thornliebank in 2019.
Four men, aged 37, 48, 54, and 67, have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of the 33-year-old on April 18, 2019.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland announced the breakthrough in the cold case on Friday (September 15) morning.
They said: "Four men aged 37, 48, 54 and 67 years have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of 33-year-old Tony Ferns in Thornliebank on Thursday, 18 April, 2019.
"They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, September 15, 2023."
The case remains the only unsolved murder in the decades-long history of Police Scotland.
At the time, a friend of the Ferns said: “Tony was a lovely boy. A gentle giant. He was a tiler and worked hard.
“Why anyone would do this to him is a mystery.
“It is shocking that something like this can happen in a quiet residential area like this.
“I just keep asking myself why.”
