A man has been arrested after reports of an assault.
Merseyside police were called to reports that a man was found unconscious in a house, on Hargrave Avenue, Oxton. Officers arrived at around 11.40am on Saturday and found a man with multiple injuries to his head and face.
He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. A 34-year-old man, from Prenton, has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.

He has been bailed with conditions. The investigation is still ongoing and extensive forensic examinations, CCTV and witness enquiries being carried out in the area.
Detective inspector Emma Kerrigan said: "Although an arrest has been made we are still continuing our enquiries in the area. We would urge anyone who was the Hargrave Avenue and Townfield Lane area Saturday evening between midnight and 4am to please contact us.
"Alternatively you have information which will assist in the investigation to please get in touch, no matter how small you think it might be.
