With foreign travel continuing to cause problems amid lost baggage, cancelled flights and strikes, many of you might be ditching the idea of an exotic holiday abroad for a late summer staycation.
And why not? We live in the most beautiful country in the world - when the sun's out.
We've recently reported on a number of different destinations up and down our stunning west coast you should consider taking a trip to over the sunnier months.
One to get a regular mention is the Isle of Arran - known as 'Scotland in miniature' - which is only a short ferry ride away from Ardrossan on the Ayrshire coast.

Although popular with hikers and golfers, Arran has an appeal to everyone on account of its incredible beauty - while its food and drink scene continues to go from strength to strength too.
Therefore it was no surprise to see Arran included in a recent guide of the UK's best staycation spots produced by luxury travel magazine Conde Nast.
One of their editors picked out a particular estate on the west of the island, originally built as a sporting lodge in the 1850s.
It now features cottages, a bothy and towers you can stay in to truly escape the mainland and unwind in the peaceful surroundings of the tranquil Arran countryside.
As described on the Dougarie Estate website: "The estate extends to around 25,000 acres and comprises of a wide range of business activities including organic farming, field sports, holiday homes, weddings and a golf course."
But rubbing shoulders with staycation spots in London, Somerset and other Scottish destinations including Braemar and in Perthshire, the writer picked out this Arran location for its 'unique beauty and vibrant sunsets'.
Here's what they said: "Dougarie Estate on the Isle of Arran off the West Coast of Scotland has recently become one of my favourite places in the world.
"Our friends Jules and Jamie Gibbs run the estate and they have done an extraordinary job over the past couple of years – protecting the unique beauty of the landscape while making it more accessible and appealing to visitors.
"We went back last summer and had a magical week gorge walking ), fishing, lobster potting, spotting seals along the shore and pods of dolphins on the horizon. On a trip over to Saddell Bay we saw a basking shark, a great big thing that swam surprisingly elegantly alongside the boat before disappearing into the deep, much to the children's disappointment.
"Days on Arran tend to float by in a happy blur of exploring, eating delicious local seafood and enjoying vibrant sunsets which turn the sky bright orange and feel like the perfect full stop on a summer’s day."
It might be worth considering a trip out there sometime soon!
