A new takeaway will soon open on a busy main road in Nottinghamshire. A hot food takeaway called Chicken Licious will open on Nottingham Road, Arnold, after Gedling Borough Council gave it the go-ahead on June 14.
It will occupy the former premises of The Gallery, a unisex hair and beauty salon which moved to Eastham Road in the town last October. There will be no external changes to the existing shop front but proposals include a dining area for customers inside.
The business will be open from 12pm to 12am Monday to Sunday and on Bank Holidays. The takeaway will employ two full-time and two part-time staff.

The upper floors will be used for storage and as an office for staff members. The terrace is immediately adjoined to the south by a retail units and to the north by a restaurant and Arnold Liberal Club.
Neighbouring residents were consulted in December 2021, with one person raising concerns of odours and noise from customers, overflowing guttering and pigeon nuisance, parking issues, and that there were already a a lot of takeaways in the area. Another consultation was held on May 18 following the submission of details about ventilation and extraction, after which no further representations were received by the council.
A council report, which recommended the application was granted permission, said: "The details within the application form state that the premises will be open to 12 noon to 12 midnight Monday to Sunday and Bank Holidays. These can be secured by condition.
"Given the distance to the nearest residential properties and the location and surrounding uses, which include a bar and restaurant and the Arnold Liberal Club, it is not considered that the proposal will result in an unacceptable loss of amenity by virtue of increased activity and associated noise."
