Arnold Schwarzenegger has provided major updates on two of his biggest franchises: Predator and Conan. "They did an additional Predator and the director [Dan Trachtenberg] has been doing a great job of that," Schwarzenegger said during an appearance at the Arnold Sports Festival in Ohio (via TheArnoldFans). "Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator. We’ve talked about it. As a matter of fact, Fox studios has kind of rediscovered Arnold. They’ve come to me and said, 'We want you to do Predator, we just got a script for you to do Commando 2.'"Trachtenberg recently revealed that the original draft of the Predator: Badlands script included a cameo from Schwarzenegger's character Dutch, while the character did actually briefly appear in animated form in Predator: Killer of Killers. It looks like Predator isn't the only franchise Arnie might be returning to, either – the actor also revealed that he's returning for a Conan the Barbarian sequel from none other than Mission: Impossible helmer Christopher McQuarrie. "They just hired a fantastic writer/director who did Tom Cruise’s last four movies," Schwarzenegger added. "They just hired him to write and direct King Conan."The original movie was released back in 1982 and follows Schwarzenegger's titular barbarian as he seeks vengeance for the death of his parents. A sequel, Conan the Destroyer, followed in 1984, and a planned threequel was planned but ultimately canceled. "With King Conan, it's a great old story that Conan was 40 years as king, and now he gets forced out of the kingdom, and there’s conflict, of course, but somehow he comes back and there’s all kinds of madness, violence, magic and creatures and stuff like that," he explained. "And now, of course, there’s all kinds of special effects. The studio has plenty of money to make those movies really big, so I'm looking forward to all of those projects."While we wait for more updates on new Predator and Conan the Barbarian movies, update your watchlist with our guide to 2026's biggest movie release dates.
