Worried residents near a school say they are "sick" of speeding on their road - and fear "the worst could happen". The speed limit in Bentwell Avenue, near Robert Mellors Primary Academy in Arnold, is 20mph, but those living on the street say not everybody abides by it.
It is an issue that happens "too frequently", according to one resident. Another pointed out that Arnold town centre - not far from the school - has a general problem with speeding vehicles.
Earlier this month, shoppers in the town centre claimed some drivers treat the area "like a race track". Locals pointed to the recent revamp of parts of Arnold as being one of the reasons why more people are now drawn to the area.

Bentwell Avenue residents have now spoken to Nottinghamshire Live about anti-social drivers on their road. Carl Denby, 67, said: "It's something that's happened too frequently recently. The cars really do go by fast.
"It gives me a bit of a fright. It's not all the time, thankfully, and it's not usually when the kids are coming out of school.
"But that's not to say it's not dangerous - it is. If something isn't done about it soon then you obviously worry for people's safety.
"People need to show more respect, especially driving past a school. If you can't slow down then, when can you?
"I worry that the worst could happen if people aren't more careful."
Eric Prosser, 51, said: "They do put their foot down when they're driving around here. I think it's because it's a long stretch of road.
"It's not even just here, happens all over the place. I think Arnold is getting a bad reputation now for drivers just not looking out for the safety of other people.
"People speed up and down through the town centre and it's a real problem. Across Front Street I see it all the time.
"I've seen so many near-accidents when I walk through the town. Other than that it's pretty quiet around here, but that's something that has to be sorted out."
Derek Smith, 64, lives nearby. He said: "I hear them every now and again and I'm sick of them.
"Something needs to be done because it's an accident waiting to happen." Nottinghamshire County Council has said it will consider whether it is possible to install a temporary speed sign on Bentwell Avenue.
A spokesperson from the council said: "As with all speed limits, we rely on road users driving appropriately and respectfully within the limit. Where speeding does occur, it is an enforceable offence and tickets are issued by Nottinghamshire Police.
“Residents can report concerns about speeding to us through our ‘Make a new highways request’ page on our website: https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/make-a-new-highways-request. Our team will consider whether it is possible to install a temporary interactive speed sign on Bentwell Avenue to make road users more aware of their speed.”
