Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is the latest manager who will not be named as the new Tottenham Hotspur head coach despite persistent links.
Slot had become the frontrunner for the vacant position in north London but he has now confirmed that he intends to stay with the Eredivisie champions instead. It is a huge blow to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who will now have to reassess his options.
“There is not - and there has not been - transfer conversation and yesterday’s meeting was exclusively for an extension", Slot said when discussing his future. "All talks with the club have always been only in that sense. I'm looking forward to next season with Feyenoord.”

Now, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Slot will in fact sign a new contract with Feyenoord. Writing on Twitter, Romano said: "Arne Slot will sign a new contract at Feyenoord very soon.
"The agreement has been reached during yesterday’s meeting and it will be sealed soon. #Feyenoord #THFC Slot decision won’t change. He’s set to stay and won’t join Tottenham."
With Slot not joining and former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann also ruling himself out of the frame for the job, attention turns to other candidates.
The likes of Vincent Kompany, Xabi Alonso and Luis Enrique have all been linked but Kompany and Alonso have already committed their futures to Burnley and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.
