Armored Core 6 gets product rating in Korea ahead of 2023 launch

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has received a product rating in Korea, hinting that the wildly anticipated mech combat game might release sooner rather than later.

As spotted by Gematsu, South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) recently gave Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon a 12+ rating within the country – primarily for violence that features “explosions using various weapons,” according to rough translations. The listing contains no details regarding  Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon beyond that, though.

Typically, video games only receive product ratings when the project is content complete. Mainly because rating boards must assess everything within a video game before, you know – giving it a rating. While this does not confirm that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will be out soon, it would line up with FromSoftware’s Game Awards reveal that the game should arrive sometime in 2023.

Aside from the initial teaser, we don’t know much about Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki did confirm that it will not play like Elden Ring or any of the studio’s other recent action RPGs. The Armored Core series typically plays more like a mission-based ‘what if’ simulation with mechs, so we’ll likely see more of that.
